Local girls gathered in Atascocita last week to celebrate the kick-off of construction for Glitz & Glam. Opening in September, Glitz & Glam will be a full service spa and salon for girls.
The salon will be a place to thrill a girl’s heart. From the cut of the first curl to an up-do for prom, Glitz & Glam will provide the latest styles and techniques in cutting, styling, highlighting and braiding for girls. Spa services will include manicures, facials, air brush tanning, brow and lip waxing and make-up application and instruction.
The salon will be a destination spot with a boutique with items to fulfill a girl’s dreams, as well as one-of-a-kind party packages. Girls will be able to choose between a variety of party themes including a karaoke or dance party complete with a sound stage and karaoke equipment. Partygoers will be able to strut their stuff on the stage and optional runway when choosing the fashion model party. The dress-up party theme will provide young girls with all the fluff and frills they could desire.
Glitz & Glam owner, Kristen Plaisance, resides in Kingwood with husband, Robbie, and their five children. The family includes two preteen girls, both of whom are excitedly awaiting the grand opening.
The idea for Glitz & Glam had root in Plaisance’s frustration in the lack of services for her girls. “There are salons that cater to young children, men and women, but there isn’t anything for the preteen and teen girls,” explained Plaisance. Recognizing the opportunity for a unique concept, Plaisance created the Glitz & Glam format.
Glitz & Glam will open in September in the Plazas at Lake Houston Parkway Shopping Center at 20121 W. Lake Houston Pkwy in Atascocita. They are currently accepting employment applications. Visit www.glitzandglamgirls.com or call 281.358.GLAM for more information
