Barnes & Noble Deerbrook Holiday Book Drive underway to benefit Memorial Hermann Northeast book program

The 10th Annual Holiday Book Drive at Barnes & Noble Deerbrook to benefit the Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital Book Buster program is currently underway and will run throughout December.

Last year, the Memorial Hermann Northeast Book Buster program received more than 4,000 books from generous shoppers at Barnes & Noble Deerbrook, who purchased and donated children’s books for the store’s Ninth Annual Holiday Book Drive. The books are made available to young patients and visitors to read when they arrive at Memorial Hermann Northeast and to take home with them when they leave.

“We are thankful for the great support we’ve received each year from the community through the Holiday Book Drive at Barnes & Noble,” said Janie Dampier, Memorial Hermann Northeast volunteer and chair of the Book Buster Committee. “The books are such a great benefit to the children and really do make a difference.”

The generous donations from the community helped the store earn the Top Seller Award in its district and rank among the best Barnes & Noble holiday book drives nationwide in 2014.

Barnes & Noble Deerbrook is located in the Deerbrook Mall at 20131 Highway 59 North in Humble. For more information on the Memorial Hermann Northeast Volunteer Program, call Volunteer Manager Elizabeth Tise at 281-540-7809.
