Lonestar College - Kingwood to Host Transfer Fair

Anyone interested in obtaining their bachelor or graduate degrees are invited to attend Lone Star College-Kingwood’s Transfer Fair.

The free college fair will take place on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Student Conference Center Atrium. Colleges and universities across the state will attend to help people meet their academic goals. This event is open to the community.

“Students can expect to meet with various colleges and universities; see other students preparing to transfer; and meet with a current academic advisor to review their degree plan,” said Nicole Keenan, director of admissions and outreach. “Also, current LSC-Kingwood students will have an opportunity to apply for graduation at this event.”

Although the list of attending colleges and universities is still in the planning phase, Lone Star College has several articulation agreements with four-year academic institutions that create a successful pathway for student transfer. Those partnership agreements include Houston Baptist University, Lamar University, Our Lady of the Lake University, Prairie View A&M University, Sam Houston State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Southern University, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman's University, University of Houston, and the University of Texas.

“It is not always feasible to visit a college or university campus; therefore, LSC-Kingwood created this event to assist students in their exploration and transition to their next educational career,” said Erica Cushmore, manager of outreach and recruitment.
