Join other wildflower enthusiasts for a guided Wildflower Walk on Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m.  Stroll down Jones Park’s beautiful trails and discover the dozens of species of magnificent wildflowers found in the park. All ages are welcome for this fun and educational program.  


Want to enjoy the beautiful amenities of Jones Park and have fun doing it? Stop by the nature center for the clues and hunt for the answers by walking the park’s trails at Nature Hunt on Sunday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ages 5 to 16.

Migration Celebration at Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center


Jones Park is getting ready for Easter! Bring hard-boiled eggs to the park Saturday, April 8, from 1 p.m.
to 3 p.m. for an afternoon of dying eggs using natural materials. Participants of all ages are welcome to attend
this program that is being held in the homestead. 


Plans are now underway for the Third Annual Picnic on the Park to be held Saturday, April 15th, from 10 am to 5 pm in Town Center Park, Kingwood.  “It is truly a collaborative effort,” explained event committee member Carla Alvarez of Legacy Marketing Services.  “All of the contributions, donations, and participation by area businesses make the event successful.” 


Birders of all experience levels are welcome to join other birding enthusiasts Saturday, February 4, at 8:30 a.m. for Breakfast with the Birds, a guided bird walk through many of the park’s beautiful walking trails.


Paddle Spring and Cypress Creeks: On Saturday, January 28, at 9:30 a.m., canoe Cypress and Spring Creeksfrom Mercer Arboretum to Jones Park. Paddle leisurely along the tree-lined, white sandy beaches of these scenic riparian waterways.


Jones Park in celebrating Arbor Day Saturday and Sunday, January 21 and 22.

Saturday programs include a Mighty Tree Tour at 9 a.m., a Pulp to Paper demonstrationat 10 a.m. (Reservations required (281) 446-8588),and a Native Trees presentation at 2 p.m. A park naturalist leads the Mighty Tree Tour that includes the natural history of the trees in the park.
