May Community Center presents a catered holiday luncheon Friday, December 11 at 11 a.m. with entertainment provided by the Starlite Sound Chorus, a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International. Invite a friend, relative, or neighbor to enjoy great food and fellowship at this special holiday gathering.

May Community Center's free intergenerational programs are part of Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jerry Eversole's educational and recreational commitment to Harris County residents. May Community Center is a Precinct 4 community center located at 2100 Wolf Road, Huffman 77336.

Take in the sights and sounds of the holiday season at May Community Center and May Park Fridays, December 4 and 11, and Saturday, December 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants of all ages can enjoy holiday entertainment, brightly decorated Christmas trees, Victorian villages, animated characters, and feel the magic of the holidays unfold during a visit with Santa.

Express Children’s Theatre brings the spirit of the season to May Community Center through a presentation of Rudolph by Alvaro Saar Rios Saturday, December 12 at 10 a.m. Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. prior to the presentation from this lively group of young actors.

Students from other nations will share their native culture, foods, dance and arts with others in a week-long celebration when Lone Star College-Kingwood honors International Education Week, Nov. 16-20. 

Area residents are encouraged to lace up their walking shoes and get ready to walk for a good cause when LSC-Kingwood hosts the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Heart Fest on Saturday, Nov. 14, 8 a.m. to noon at the Student and Fine Arts Building Outdoor Commons area on campus.  

Help raise money and awareness about heart disease and stroke by participating in the 5K Heart Walk. On-site registration for those who do not register in advance will begin at 8 a.m. and the walk   will begin at 9 a.m. The 5K or 3.1-mile course begins on the campus, travels down Kingwood Place to Northpark Drive and then returns to campus. Most walkers should complete the course in 30 to 45 minutes. Participants are encouraged to bring their cheering squad to give them support as they cross the finish line. 

Kick off your holiday shopping AND your holiday charitable giving with a new kind of retail therapy at the Kingwood Women's Club (KWC) Holiday Marketplace on October 26th and 27th at the Humble Civic Center. At the Holiday Marketplace, experience retail therapy with the extra therapeutic benefit of giving to those in need. All, or a portion, of every dollar spent at the Holiday Marketplace is a contribution to one of the many local charitable organizations supported by KWC.

The Annual Coffee News Tasting The Town event on October 15th at the Humble Civic Center will feature fun for event-goers as well as some local celebrities, event organizers announced this week. Attendees will have the chance to sample top menu items and beverages from over 40 local restaurants, caterers, wineries and more - and will be given the opportunity to vote when leaving the event for their favorite entrée, dessert, beverage and more.

Expand your horizons with the May Community Center.  Several outings are planned over the next several months including a trip to the Nutcracker Market.  Transportation is provided for adults 50 and over. There is something planned for everyone with children's storytimes, theatre productions, and personal development and information seminars scheduled.
