With school out for the holidays soon and relatives visiting from out of town, children of all ages will be looking for something to do while parents search for inexpensive ways to keep their kids busy. Look no further than Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s Pundt Park in north Harris County!

Toe-tapping performances and quality entertainment are sure to draw a big crowd to Lone Star College-Kingwood’s fourth Kingwood Kabaret May 31-June 1. A scholarship fundraiser for the college’s Theatre Department, the Kingwood Kabaret is an intimate evening of entertainment that will feature many Jazz standards and Broadway show tunes presented in a cabaret setting

The Jewish celebration of Passover offers the opportunity for some of the most dramatic stories of the Bible, as well as folklore connected to this popular holiday.  The week before Passover this year, Rabbi Dan Gordon of Humble's Temple Beth Torah will be presenting holiday tales at three local libraries.  Monday, March 18 will include an afternoon program in Kingwood and an evening program in Atascocita, followed by a Tuesday morning presentation in Humble on March 19.

Harris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program (SAP) is hosting a Lovebug Boogie Dance and Concert Wednesday, February 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway. The afternoon dance for adults, ages 50 and better, features the River Road Boys. Light refreshments will be served, but alcohol is not permitted at county-sponsored functions.

On Saturday, November 3,  a  special recycling event  will take place from 9 am-3 pm at the Kingwood Metro Park & Ride near the intersection of Rustic Woods and West Lake Houston Parkway. Net proceeds from this event will be used to develop a training program for  people with disabilities.

Get a jump on the cold and flu season. May Community Center offers flu and pneumonia immunizations and vaccines Tuesday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Immunizations administered by Texas Vaccine Institute are free to participants with Medicare Plan B age 65 and better. Everyone else is asked to make payment by check or cash at the time immunizations are administered

The 2nd ANNUAL HAAM PILLARS OF THE COMMUNITY  " Celebrating Hands and Hearts of Lake Houston" will be held on September 15th 6 PM at The Kingwood Country Club. This event honors Lake Houston Area Couples who have gone above and beyond in giving their time and resources to their neighbors in need.  The three couples nominated and honored this year have certainly shown exemplary and selfless efforts and help make this community a better place for all to live work and raise children.
