    Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites the community to enjoy three hours of live rock, folk, and country music during the 17th annual Precinct 4 Opry Friday, July 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble.

    It was a labor of love for a group of volunteers at Mercer Botanic Gardens. Volunteers spent the morning harvesting hundreds of pounds of winter greens to donate to the Houston Food Bank.

    Get a jump on the cold and flu season. May Community Center offers flu and pneumonia immunizations and vaccines Tuesday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Immunizations administered by Texas Vaccine Institute are free to participants with Medicare Plan B age 65 and better. Everyone else is asked to make payment by check or cash at the time immunizations are administered

    A walk along the Spring Creek Greenway trails may one day yield more than just fresh air. Last summer, Commissioner Cagle began a new initiative aimed at restoring native fruit and nut trees along the greenway for families and wildlife to enjoy.

    All grandparents are invited to May Community Center for a special luncheon in their honor Friday, September 7 at 11 a.m. This event is especially for grandparents who generously share insight, wisdom, and love with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    As you reflect on the joys of grandparenting, the Harris County Precinct One Seniors Drama and Dance Group perform their Seniors Musical Reflections that will have you singing and laughing along to a fun-filled, humorous revue with dialogue, songs, and dancing

     

  • Grandparent’s Day Brunch at May Community Center may community center

    May Community Center is hosting a brunch Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. in honor of grandparents who generously share insight, wisdom, and love with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Senior Pastor Rodney Bryant of Calvary Christian Fellowship in Kingwood shares the joys he has found as a new grandfather.

    Following the catered brunch, enjoy a special PowerPoint presentation starring grandchildren! To include photos in the presentation, please send the pictures and a $5 prepaid reservation fee to the Center by Thursday, September 3.

    Nearly 700 guests attended Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle's Tribute to Veterans at the Humble Civic Center on Nov. 11. Veterans and their spouses enjoyed a catered dinner plus a patriotic concert featuring the Houston Tidelanders during the precinct's largest Veterans Day celebration to date.
