As part of a planned community, each village in Kingwood has its own community homeowners associations. These Kingwood homeowners associations are responsible for making decisions on the upkeep and management of the village common areas, enforcing Kingwood deed restrictions, and a few organize community events for residents. Each village homeowners association is also part of a trails association that manages the greenbelt. The Kingwood HOA's meet monthly. You can check the next meeting for your association on our events calendar. One of the most confusing things for someone new to Kingwood Texas is knowing who to contact for information. Each homeowners association publishes a newsletter that is distributed to residents. However, mine is only published quarterly and contact information has only been included once in all the time that we've lived here.
The internet isn't much more help. Most of the community associations do have the deed restrictions available online. Only a handful of village associations have their own web site and even fewer keep it updated with current information. So who do you contact for information? Most of the village community associations (with the exception of three) hire an association management company to manage the day-to-day details of the association. If you have a concern, comment or complaint about an issue in your village, attend the next homeowners association board meeting. If you have a question about a bill or letter from the association that you received or would like to make changes to your home such as repainting, residing, replacing the roof, putting in a pool, building an addition or outbuilding, or cutting a tree, contact the management association. The approval process varies from village to village; however, the management association would be your first point of contact. For example if you were going to repaint your house, some villages have an approved list of paint colors and paint chips available in the management office. You just pick a color on that list and you are on your way. However, other villages require that you pick a color from the approved list and turn in an application to the management company. The management company then forwards the application to a homeowners association board member for approval. The short answer is contact the management company for your village first and they will either be able to give you the information you need or put you in contact with someone who can.
