Walden on Lake Houston Country Club celebrated the opening of The Overlook Wine Bar and Grill on Wednesday, November 4th during its monthly Member Mixer hosted by Dan and Janet Huberty and Dick and Janice Rumbley.

The over 200 attendees enjoyed live music in the Dining Room by Randy Marshall and the Les Lobo playing the baby grand piano in the Overlook. Chef Kurt Plankenhorn provided chef attended pasta stations for diners while the Overlook featured the club’s new wine list with numerous options by the glass.

The opening of The Overlook was part of a $150,000 renovation to the clubhouse made possible by a partnership between club’s management and the members of the Club represented by its Board of Governors. Walden’s Board of Governors include Craig Covey (Chairman), Melba Eveler, Robert Sullivan, Pat Unrein, Jim Jansen, Yolanda Waters, Michael Nasra, Ken McKissick and Paul Jones.

Celebrating its 25 year anniversary, Walden is a private Country Club with an 18-hole championship golf course and practice facilities, 19th Hole Bar and Grill, Banquet Facility overlooking Lake Houston, 8 hard court tennis courts, workout facility, 2 racquet ball courts, and swimming pool.
