Local Residents Get Chance to Win a New Smile

As an advocate of regular dental care, 1-800-DENTIST® understands that many people can't afford the dentistry they need. That's why the nation's leading free resource for consumers in search of a dentist has launched a nationwide $30,000 smile makeover contest called "My Smile Bites". To enter, contestants must upload a personal video showing what's wrong with their smile explaining how these problems affect their lives. Video submissions will be accepted through November 10, 2009 noon PST.

The public may vote for their favorite contestant videos from November 10, 2009 through December 1, 2009 noon PST. 1-800-DENTIST® will choose five potential finalists based on several criteria, including the clinical feasibility and complexity of each case. 1-800-DENTIST® will announce the winner on December 15, 2009 noon PST. The winner's cosmetic dentistry journey will be captured on film.

Local business makes a difference by offering $35,000 of FREE services to donors

Earl and Karen Garrison, owners of The Conservatory Day Spa and Salon in Kingwood , TX, have announced the underwriting of a $70,000 fund-raising effort to replace the Foster Elementary school’s playground which was burned on July 4th, 2009 by Gifting $35,000 of FREE services to Donors.

The Garrisons have always been great supporters of the area schools and teachers. Just a few months ago, they gave over 4500 teachers and administrators in the Humble & New Caney ISD $50 gift certificates as a gesture of appreciation. Now, they have come forward again to help raise money to replace the burned playground at Foster Elementary.
