Vote Now in the Humble School Board Elections

Make your voice heard in the management of HISD schools by voting in the Board of Trustees elections.  Early voting is going on now through May 9th at the Humble ISD Administration Building (20200 Eastway Village Drive, Humble) or at the Instructional Support Center (4810 Magnolia Cove Drive, Kingwood).  Early voting hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8 am to 7 pm on Thursday. 

Election Day is Saturday, May 13th.  The polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm at the following locations:

Help Kate Fight CMS

 Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome is an inherited muscular disorder resulting from a genetic flaw at the neuromuscular junction,  occurring in 1 or 2 per million births.

There will be a fundraiser to help with Kate's medical expenses on Saturday, April 8th at the Porter Walmart with Barbeque sandwich with Chips and Drink  for $5.00, Hot Dogs for $1.50, as well as brownies, cookies and cakes.

American Business Women’s Chapter Awards Honors to Local Women

The Humble Artesian Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association awarded its top honors to three local business women at the March business meeting.

The Humble Artesian Chapter of ABWA is part of a national network of business women founded in 1949 and currently has over 45,000 members.  Locally, the Humble Chapter is one of the largest in the country with over 100 members from Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood and surrounding areas.  Each year the Chapter awards over $5,000 in scholarships to local women attending or entering college.

Got Skills? Find out about the skills you need to succeed in today’s business world at the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce PeopleFEST on Thurs., Feb. 23 from 1-5 p.m. at the Nathaniel Center, 804 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood.

Featured speaker will be Dan Huberty of Ampco System Parking on “Managing People.”  Breakout sessions will follow on human resources topics ranging from motivating employees to selecting employee benefits.

Vendor displays will be open throughout the event which will conclude with a panel discussion on “Best Practices in Human Resources.“

Volunteers for Kleenwood 2005 Show the Results of their Labor

Residents of Kingwood enjoy the well-planned villages and commercial areas, as well as the beautiful greenbelts and  parks.  However, maintaining that beauty takes effort on the part of everyone.

In an effort to preserve the beauty and livability of Kingwood, in 2004 the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce started the annual Travis McCormick Kleenwood Day.   The event was named for Travis McCormick, who was the head of the Kingwood Service Association for many years and was committed to preserving the natural beauty of Kingwood.
