Texas 127 House Candidate Addie Wiseman says she was inspired to run for office by her former boss Houston City Councilman Rob Todd [http://www.guidrynews.com/story.aspx?id=1000010228]...Did you know this is the same man who while serving in office pocketed thousands from the Houston taxpayers and also took another Councilman's wife behind his back while both were still in office in a very ugly, public affair [http://www.houstonpress.com/2000-12-07/news/rob-todd-unredacted/]? More recently he publicly endorsed liberal, Democrat-party backed candidates Jolanda Jones [jolandajones.com/endorse] & Lane Lewis [lanelewis.com/supporters] OVER strong conservative candidates Jack Christi & Brenda Stardig in the 2009 Houston City Council Elections. Stardig is running for what was Todd's seat (District A) and is currently in a runoff with Lewis as I write this.
Are Todd, Jones, Lewis and Addie Wiseman the type of conservative leaders we want inspiring the important decisions made in Austin? The voters must decide this next March.
I'd also like to point out that I work for the public good and not for any candidates. And I might even run myself if this race doesn't attract someone worthy of our support. It's just leadership from current has been candidates like Wiseman, Basudua is weak, tired and not good enough. We need fresh conservative ideas and folks who will support bills like Voter ID and further reforms to our state legal system.
At best - we need a leader who isn't proud about working for or wasn't inspired to seek higher office by ethically challenged, liberal crooks from Houston. My point is not weak; political circles are very indicative of a politician's political philosophy.
Who knows maybe if someone dug a little deeper, we'd find that Mrs. Wiseman helped with some of the activities of Mr. Todd while working for him as a senior staff member. Maybe she even participated in some of them. Or maybe not. What's only documented is that Todd took money from the taxpayers and publicly took another councilman's wife behind his back; that stuff doesn't happen quietly. Can you imagine what probably went on that the public didn't even hear about under this man's unethical tenure as councilman? As one of his top staffers, Wiseman was there to bear witness to all that, never took a stand and probably helped keep it all secret for as long as it was; and it's important we remember.
