Cable, Internet, and Phone Service 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am have trouble locating bundled service provider for cable phone, internet and TV service in Greentree Village. Can anyone suggest best service?- I'd like to stick with one provider if possible - I found EMBARQ - but it is telephone line/DSL/Satellite. Comast and Time Warner say thy don't service 77345 zip code.

The only options in the original part of Kingwood are Embarq and Suddenlink (originally Kingwood Cable). There was some sort of deal made when Kingwood was developed that restricted it.

I have Suddenlink for internet and cable, but I have Vonage for phone.

Suddenlink was Cebridge before, and when they bought out Kingwood Cable there were a lot of issues. But I have to say that the service has been pretty good for the past couple of years.

You have the outages in the high winds and the internet will slow down in the evening during higher usage, but again overall it is pretty good.

I have heard from NUMEROUS people who have had issues with Embarq. Anything IT related you can expect that there will occasionally be issues.

But I have had more than one web hosting client call me saying that they aren't receiving emails on their domain name. My first question is, "Are you using Embarq?" and the answer is always yes.

I'm not a hardware person, so I don't know why this happens, but every once in awhile their internet will just stop updating. One of my clients couldn't download her email through her Embarq internet connection for 12 HOURS, but they were coming through on her Sprint Blackberry phone.

I think Embarq does have the cheapest package, but if your ISP is going to affect anything business related, I'd go with Suddenlink.

thanks for the reply - My company will be paying for my home office so I was hoping to get a package deal to turn in expenses together. I'll check them out. And maybe add a "Dish" for the kids.

Well both Embarq and Suddenlink have all in one packages so you could go either way.

The one thing about a dish is that if the trees around your house are in the wrong spot, you won't be able to get reception.

We had Dish, then Direct TV, then we wanted to get high definition. We were going to switch to a high definition dish with Direct TV, but trees were blocking the direction that type of dish had to be facing. So we switched and added high def to the internet package we already had with Suddenlink.
