Kingwood Christmas Tree Recycling To Help Rebuild Brazoria County Beaches

firtree.pngAre you dreaming of a green Christmas? Association Management, Inc. (AMI)-Kingwood will make it easy to be green this post-holiday season by collecting Christmas trees now through January 9 for the annual Dunes Day project to rebuild the sand dunes along Brazoria County beaches.

"We appreciate the support of Association Management Inc.-Kingwood office in our goal to collect the more than 20,000 Christmas trees needed to reconstruct the dunes devastated by Hurricane Ike,” said Brazoria County Parks Department Director Richard Hurd.

2009 Kingwood Civic Club Christmas Light Winners

lights.pngEvery holiday season, neighbors in villages throughout Kingwood drag out their Christmas decorations and create a festive holiday display.

The Kingwood Civic Club holds a Christmas Decorating Contest for the community.  Awards are given out for Best Traditional, Santa's Favorite, Best Religious, Best Doorway, Best Lights, and Best Block Spirit.  

The 2009 winners were announced on Friday, December 12th.

Local business owners win a $2400 Marketing Makeover!

tara_patricia.jpgWhen Tara Hahn, co-owner of New Leaf Organizing, entered a Marketing Makeover contest, she told her partner, Patricia Vela, she didn’t know why she was entering because they would never win.

But, is she ever glad she did now! Tara reflects back to when she first entered. She had found the contest mentioned in the local paper with just a few days left to enter. She also remembers thinking it was too much trouble to enter because it was an essay type entry with lots of questions. However, she pursued, and now is the lucky winner.

The contest was hosted by Penworth Marketing in Humble, Texas, and was only open to those located within a 20 mile radius.

Harville Hendrix Coming to Kingwood: "A New Way to Love: Living God's Purpose for Your Marriage"

hendrixharville.jpgInternationally acclaimed marriage expert and best-selling author Harville Hendrix, Ph. D., will conduct a 3-hour seminar entitled, “A New Way to Love: Living God’s Purpose for Your Marriage” on Friday, February 5 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kingwood.

The special appearance by Hendrix, a Clinical Pastoral Counselor, will focus on God’s purpose in marriage and how to create a life of joy together. “The purpose is to heal each other and help each other grow towards wholeness, to recover the original condition given to them by God at birth,” said Hendrix. “(Attendees) will learn that marriage has this healing power and they will learn how to access and use that power.”
