School begins soon and possibly some anxious moments of lost homework, a disheveled backpack and unknown test dates.  Whether it's keeping track of homework or remembering to bring home a backpack, students from middle school through college need to be organized to succeed in school. For many students academic challenges are often due to disorganization rather than intelligence.  Organizing for academic success is a learned skill and with the right tools and routines can make a difference for any student.

Plans Underway for the 2006 Garden at the Park Family Festival

The 2006 Garden at the Park Family Festival will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 10 a.m till 6 p.m.

The Peoples Park is situated at 1389 Forest Way on the Kingwood Drive feeder beside Sears Hardware.

This years festival will include live music, games and moonwalks for the kids, vendors, arts and crafts, live entertainment shows and much more.

Update: Help Needed Finding Missing Kingwood Girls

Update:  The girls have been located in California and their parents are enroute to bring them home.

Update:  A candelight vigil will be held for the girl's safe return tonight, Saturday the 22nd, in the Sear's parking lot at Deerbrook Mall.

Two Kingwood Girls, Whitney Kast and Mellissa Aristizabal, were last seen at Deerbrook Mall on Tuesday, July 18th.
 
The Kast family has requested the community's help in locating the missing girls.  Below is a message from the family:
 
Please help. My teenage daughter is missing Her name is Whitney Kast. She was last seen at the DEERBROOK mall on Tuesday July 18th. She is 17 years old; she has a lung condition called a Pneumothorax. This is very rare and it has happened to her 4 times. Please
help...All we want to know is that she is OK.

The Court of Kingwood Celebrates Summer with an Open House

Merchants located in the Court of Kingwood are celebrating summer and holding a customer appreciation open house on Thursday, July 27th.

The open house will be held from 10 am to 6 pm.  Ribbon cutting ceremonies will be held at 11:30 am for  the Merry-Go-Round, Kids in Action, IXMAN Mortgage and Curves.

Attendees may enter a raffle (no purchase necessary).  A laptop computer will be awarded as the grand prize.  An HP all-in-one printer will be given away as well.
