Vote in the Special HISD School Board Elections

Don't forget to vote in the Humble ISD Special Election.  Voters will elect trustees for three of the positions on the Board of Trustees as well as deciding the fate of a bond which would provide for new schools in the district and improvements.

Election Day is Saturday, May 10th.  The polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm at the following locations:

Kingwood Swimming Pool Openings for 2008

Kingwood pool hoursAs schools wind down across Kingwood, the community pools are beginning to open.  Several have weekend hours during the months of May and September.  All pools will be operating on summer hours no later than June 4th.

New this year is the implementation of cooperative pool tags for many Kingwood villages.  Residents of participating villages that are current on the homeowners and trails associations dues may receive id bracelets. 

Residents of villages participating in the cooperative pool tag system will be able to use other village pools that use the ID bracelets.   Non-Kingwood residents may purchase id bracelets for $125 per family to use the pools of participating villages.

Keller Williams Raises $31,000 for ALS Victim Stacie Rhea

While the rain poured down outside, emotions were flowing inside the Walden on Lake Houston Country Club on the evening of March 6 as Keller Williams Realty agents and the community came together to raise money for Stacie Rhea, a victim of the terminal disease ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Rhea, the daughter-in-law of Keller Williams Realty Northeast co-owner Judy Hopkins, was the guest of honor at the benefit hosted by Keller Williams which raised more than $31,000. The funds will go towards completing a renovation to Rhea’s home in Iowa, so that the 38-year-old mother of three can stay close to her family as her illness progresses.

Kingwood, TX: Have some fun and throw your cares to charity by celebrating the extra day in 2008 – Leap Day -- at Nico’s Place with a fun evening of laughter and karaoke to benefit the Village Learning & Achievement Center.  The local restaurant and nite club, located in the heart of Black Cat Ridge on Loop 494, will donate 10% of its proceeds Friday, February 29th from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. to the local charity.

Perfectionism and procrastination

Perfectionism and procrastination sound like opposites but are they really? Do you set incredibly high standards for a project including lots of planning and then don’t get started because it won’t be completed to your satisfaction? Do you put off a project, thinking you will have more time or energy to do it later?  More often than you think, perfectionism can be immobilizing you.   


Are you a perfectionist?

Begin by becoming aware of perfectionism in your life.  Many people do not realize that they are perfectionists.  A home with clutter or incomplete projects can be the home of a perfectionist!  Having incredibly high standards that are impossible to reach, whether in taking care of your home, completing a project, or in any thought process, indicate perfectionism.  By having the realization of perfectionism, you can begin to evaluate what this is costing you and what’s next.
