The Harris County Precinct 4 Parks Department has temporarily closed all access points of the Spring Creek Greenway Trail from Dennis Johnston Park to Jones Park in response to rising flood waters.

Precinct 4 residents from nine area assisted living facilities enjoyed fun-filled activities during Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s eighth annual Precinct 4 County Fair at Humble Civic Center on May 19.

For many uninsured residents in the Houston area, it’s a challenge to pay for a much-needed surgery and to take a day off from work to have it performed. The result is a life with daily pain or frequent emergency room visits because they can’t bear it anymore.

The Spring Creek Greenway is a step closer to connectivity with a major greenbelt in northeast Harris County as construction on a two-mile section of the trail begins.

Memorial Hermann Health System President & CEO Dan Wolterman will be inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Wolterman joins five other Texas businessmen in the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015 and is the only healthcare professional in this year’s class.

Ahead of National Cancer Survivors Day, Memorial Hermann, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society Gulf Coast Region and the Westin Houston Memorial City, will host its annual “A Survivor’s Celebration of Life” event honoring cancer survivors and their caregivers on Friday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Westin Houston Memorial City.
