The City of Humble and the Humble Senior Activity Center are proud to present the 35th Annual Good Oil Days Festival. This will be a fantastic event with Arts & Crafts, good food, and plenty of fun and the famous senior plant sale!

As part of their Aquatics Science class, students from DeKaney High School recently visited Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center to study the aquatic life there. Students collected and identified various organisms from the Jones Park Turtle Pond and tested the water quality using chemical reagents to “fix” and titrate the samples.

If you like dinosaurs, you don’t want to miss the 2006 Houston Gem and Mineral Society’s Gem, Jewelry, Mineral, and Fossil Show, to be held September 22-24 at the Humble Civic Center. This year’s show features “A Prehistoric Journey,” a new exhibit from Dinosaur World in San Antonio showcasing the skeletons, skulls, teeth, bones, spikes and claws of prehistoric creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites the community to enjoy three hours of live rock, folk, and country music during the 17th annual Precinct 4 Opry Friday, July 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble.

Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital now offers bronchial thermoplasty, a novel treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for asthma. Asthma patients who received bronchial thermoplasty during clinical trials demonstrated significant improvement in their asthma symptoms as well as a reduction in the number of severe asthma flare-ups and emergency department visits.
