kingwood christmas light decorating contest

The Kingwood Civic Club, along with the assistance of the participating Community Associations proudly announces this year's winners of the annual Christmas Yard Decorating Contest  that was held on Friday, December 9, 2011.

Special thanks to all of the volunteer judges who participated this year and helped us in the very difficult decision of selecting the final winners. We want to give a special thanks to Jean Waldrop for hosting this year's event and Rick Alspaugh for sponsoring the signs this year.

Lights draping from limb to limb on Evergreen Glade put residents over the top for the Best Block Spirit in 2008.

One of the annual Kingwood  Christmas favorites is the Christmas light decorating contest sponsored by the Kingwood Civic Club.  Judging for this  years contest is on and will start on December 1st with winners announced December 9th.

Take a break from the holiday rush.  Load the family in the car, pick up some hot chocolate and tour the villages to enjoy your neighbors' creativity and Christmas spirit.

Among the perks of living in Kingwood Texas  are the beautiful greenbelts dotted with parks and pools in each village.  No matter how hot the temperature gets here in Houston, it's just a short distance to one of the sparkling neighborhood pools.

Each village swimming pool is governed and pool hours are set by that neighborhood's homeowner's association.

The majority of the villages that are members of KSA participate in the cooperative pool tags for many Kingwood villages.  Residents of participating villages that are current on the homeowners and trails associations dues may receive id bracelets.

Residents of villages participating in the cooperative pool tag system will be able to use other village pools that use the ID bracelets.   Non-Kingwood residents may purchase id bracelets for $125 per family to use the pools of participating villages.

Every holiday season, neighbors in villages throughout Kingwood drag out their Christmas decorations and create a festive holiday display.

The Kingwood Civic Club holds a Christmas Decorating Contest for the community.  Awards are given out for Best Traditional, Santa's Favorite, Best Religious, Best Doorway, Best Lights, and Best Block Spirit.

The 2009 winners were announced on Friday, December 12th.

back to school

August 24th is the first day of school for Humble ISD; however, the next two weeks will be crunch time for busy parents. August 13th and 14th are the last days to order prepackaged school supplies through EPI, and most campuses have information packet pick-ups scheduled prior to Meet the Teacher and Orientation. See the list below for times and dates for each campus.
