A bevy of beauties descended on Town Center Park in Kingwood on October 11th for a day of glamour and fun. They came to participate in the "Model for a Day" sponsored by 5th Avenue Bowtique of North Houston.
Eden Grimm is the owner and principal designer of 5th Avenue Bowtique, a business specializing in custom children's clothing and accessories.
"The event began as a model search for product photos for my online store," Grimm explained. There was such an overwhelming response from area families that the day was expanded to include mini photo sessions for all who wanted to participate.
Girls donned boas, tutus, and tiaras, all of the frilly things that delight a little girl's heart. Local photographers Rachel Vogel of Portrait Playland and Jennifer Berard of Capturing You Photography made the day special with individual attention during the sessions. Each girl left with a custom hair bow from 5th Avenue Bowtique.
A raffle was held during the event with the proceeds benefiting Child Advocates of Houston. The raffle included donations from Portrait Playland, Capturing You Photography, 5th Avenue Bowtique, Kuca Baby, What the Wrap, Bead Queen, Ballerinas & Buckaroos, and the Kingwood Merry-Go-Round.
When asked if she would hold the event again, Grimm answered with a definitive yes. "We had a great time and received a lot of positive feedback. We will definitely be holding the Model for a Day again."
Vogel with Portrait Playland agreed. "It was an amazing time to capture the lil' beauties. It was a day dedicated to making these gals feel great about themselves and I have no doubt they felt wonderful! I was glad to have been a part of the smiles that will last a lifetime."
Inspired by the success of the event, Grimm has plans to hold a Christmas themed "high tea" in several locations in the area. For more information, visit www.fifthavenuebowtique.com or contact Grimm at
