Life’s Images Photography proudly donated $8000 to its “Hope Calendar” beneficiary for 2010, It’s My Heart, after completing the third annual fundraising project last week.
Debi Gomez of Life’s Images Photography began the project three years ago to benefit local family charities using her skill photographing children. She photographed children from the local area (including The Woodlands, Spring, Kingwood, Cypress and Houston proper) and published a wall calendar, which was sold to benefit the charity. With over $17,000 raised to date, the project is quite a success.
“I wanted to create an annual event that would inspire hope and allow the community to participate to support local charities such as It’s My Heart,” Gomez said. “The Hope Calendar blends people’s innate love for children with their desire to give back in a really fun way so I am thrilled that there has been such a great response to the project.”
Local organizations underwrote the calendar production, allowing all proceeds to be donated to this year’s recipient. Orders for the calendar were taken from October through February, allowing participants to start off the New Year in a spirit of giving.
“I plan to continue the calendar project annually,” Gomez said. “With great support, we've been able to turn a really fun project into a community effort that has big impact.”
