Ten years ago, the newly formed Kingwood Chamber came up with a simple idea: neighbors getting together for a morning to pick up trash and make their community beautiful. Christened "Kleenwood," a Kingwood tradition was born. Each January, residents in every community across Kingwood meet at their village pool, garbage bags in hand, and do their part to clean up the place they call home.
If you would like to be part of this Kingwood tradition and participate in the 10th Annual Kleenwood Day 2013 and meet new friends while doing so, simply go to your neighborhood pool at 9 am and look for your team captain who will be wearing a red vest for an assignment.
Helpful Tips:
- Wear sturdy comfortable shoes and long sleeves
- Bring work gloves if you have them,
- Trash bags will be provided, but you are free to bring your own.
Once you have received your assigned location, if you see trash, pick it up. Place full trash bags at the closest street greenbelt entrance. Your team captain will have a phone number for the pickup volunteer.
Find something unusual? Bring it to the wrap up party to show off.
At noon, head over to Town Center Park for the wrap up party.
