Kingwood, TX: Whether torrential thunderstorms or sweltering heat, the Fourth of July is always a day to celebrate in Kingwood.
This year, residents will have a difficult time choosing between three Saturday evening festivities: the fireworks at the Town Center Park Festival, Alspaughs Street Dance, and the 2nd Annual Independence Day Concert at Kings Harbor.
There will be plenty of fun for kids kicking off at 6:00 am with a Fishing Rodeo, continuing with a Bike Decorating Contest and 4th of July parade, and festival fun at Town Center.
If you have been pining for the opportunity to demonstrate the perfect parade wave, you too can be a part of the annual July 4th tradition. Parade entry forms can be picked up at the Lake Houston YMCA. A $30 registration fee is required for commercial entries. Nonprofit group entries are free.

Parade Route: W Lake Houston Pkwy from Creekwood Middle School, Kingwood Drive to the Kingwood High School
Line up begins at 8:00 am at Creekwood Middle School. Registration is required. Registration forms are available at the Lake Houston YMCA
Kingwood Town Center 4th Festivities
Booths at Kingwood Town Center will be open from noon to 9:00 pm. There will be something for the whole family with food, moonwalks, and craft and vendor booths.
Attendees can enjoy music by Andy Rodriguez and Harmony Groove from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Thunder from 6:15 pm to 9:15 pm.
Alspaugh's Ace Hardware Street Dance
2720 West Lake Houston Pkwy, Kingwood
6:00 pm.
Bring the family, a cooler and some chairs and enjoy the music. BBQ donations will be accepted. The event is free to the public.
2nd Annual Independence Day Concert
Kings Harbor
1660 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood
7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Celebrate Independence Day at a free concert featuring patriotic music performed by the Kingwood Big Band on Saturday, July 4th at Kings Harbor Waterfront Village at the Plaza.
Musical selections will include music of the big band era and patriotic favorites such as Stars and Stripes Forever, Semper Fidelis, America the Beautiful and more. In addition to the patriotic music being performed, there will be an opportunity for audience participation during a patriotic sing-a-long.
This outdoor concert will be held from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Kings Harbor located at 1660 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, TX 77345. Admission is free and lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. For more information call (281) 312-1532.
