Whether torrential thunderstorms or sweltering heat, the Fourth of July is always a day to celebrate in Kingwood Texas .
This year, residents will have a difficult time choosing between the Monday night festivities: the fireworks at the Town Center 4th of July Festival sponsored by Woodforest National Bank and the 4th Annual Independence Day Concert at Kings Harbor.
There will be plenty of fun for kids kicking off at 6:00 am with a Fishing Rodeo, continuing with a Bike Decorating Contest and 4th of July parade, and festival fun at Town Center Park .
If you have been pining for the opportunity to demonstrate the perfect parade wave, you too can be a part of the annual July 4th tradition. Parade entry forms can be picked up at the Lake Houston YMCA. A $30 registration fee is required for commercial entries. Nonprofit group entries are free. Applications can be downloaded here:

Bring the family, a cooler and some chairs and enjoy the music. BBQ donations will be accepted. The event is free to the public.

Parade Route: W Lake Houston Pkwy from Creekwood Middle School, Kingwood Drive to the Kingwood High School
Line up begins at 8:00 am at Creekwood Middle School. Registration is required. Registration forms are available at the Civic Club web site.
Woodforest 4th of July Festival at Kingwood Town Center
Booths at Kingwood Town Center will be open from 2:00 pmto 9:00 pm. There will be something for the whole family with food, moonwalks, and craft and vendor booths.
DJ Mark Linabury will entertain the crowd from 2 pm to 6 pm, and enjoy the music Andy Rodriguez and Harmony Groove from 6 pm to 9 pm. The firework display will follow.
While there is a citywide ban on the sale and use of personal fireworks due to the drought, the professional displays are exempt from this ban and are allowed on a case by case basis. Currently, the Kingwood fireworks display will go off as planned. For more information, contact the Houston Fire Department.
4th Annual Independence Day Concert
Kings Harbor
1660 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood
7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Celebrate Independence Day at a free concert featuring patriotic music performed by the Kingwood Big Band on Saturday, July 4th at Kings Harbor Waterfront Village at the Plaza.
Musical selections will include music of the big band era and patriotic favorites such as Stars and Stripes Forever, Semper Fidelis, America the Beautiful and more. In addition to the patriotic music being performed, there will be an opportunity for audience participation during a patriotic sing-a-long.
This outdoor concert will be held from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Kings Harbor located at 1660 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, TX 77345. Admission is free and lawn chairs and coolers are welcome.
