Benefit To Showcase Local Talent

Humble TX:  The Humble/Kingwood Houston Metro Go Texan Committee is hosting “Go Texan Opry Night” to benefit the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR).  The event will be held on October 28th at Wilson Road Hall, 2725 Wilson Road, Humble.  Performers include Keri Settle, Sara and Chris Kruppa, Kris and Stacey Pierce, and Charla Wilkes and Raymond Foster (formerly of Texas Jam).

The Whiskey River Band featuring Kenneth Potter and Mike Williford will also perform and lend their services as house band.  In addition to the entertainment there will be live and silent auctions.  Doors open at 6:00pm.  Music starts at 7:00pm.  A steak dinner will be served from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Following the conclusion of the vocal performances the band will play for dancing starting at around 10:30pm.  Tickets are $20.00 for the dinner & entertainment, $10.00 for the entertainment only.  It should be a night of old fashioned food and fun for a good cause.

The Humble/Kingwood Houston Metro Go Texan Committee hosts four local events annually.  This guarantees at least one HLSR scholarship will be awarded to a senior at each Humble ISD high school every year.  In May, 2006, seven Humble ISD students received a total of $84,000.00 from the HLSR.
