Kingwood TX: Kingwood Country Club is sponsoring a benefit luncheon and a fashion show for Kingwood Heartbeat Bears on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 11:00am. All proceeds from this event will be used to purchase teddy bears. Fashions will be provided by Best Kept Secrets and local vocalist Lisa Streck will entertain the guests.
Kingwood Heartbeat Bears is a nonprofit (501C) charitable organization and is a “den” of Good Bears of The World International. Our mission is to provide teddy bears with our love of caring and sharing to children in traumatic situations and the lonely, forgotten elderly.
In the past year we supplied teddy bears to Texas Children’s Hospital Cancer Center, Critical Care Unit and Cardiac unit; Kingwood Medical Center, Westminster House of Kingwood; Kingwood Blue Star Moms; Northeast Medical Center – Emergency Room, Outpatient Surgery and OB/GYN Bereavement Group; Humble Health Care Nursing Home, Family Time Foundation and The Door; Humble EMS and Constables and 500 bears were delivered to victims of Hurricanes Katrina & Rita.
The only source of income for Kingwood Heartbeat Bears is from private donations and various fund raising projects. In addition to this benefit luncheon, The Kingwood Heartbeat Bears are currently selling their exciting new cookbook featuring tried and true recipes of their members. October begins the sale of the Bear’s Raffle Tickets for fabulous prizes with drawing held at the December Luncheon of Hi Neighbor Club- Kingwood.
