HUMBLE, TX— The Chamber’s first Lake Houston 10k/5k & Wellness Fest is less than a month away! The events are planned for August 28 at Kings Harbor in Kingwood.
The 10K run and 5K run/walk will begin at 8 am on Saturday, August, 28th at Kings Harbor. The Wellness Fest will follow the run/walk from 10 am to 2 pm with an award ceremony at 10 am.
The 10K/5K will be on a certified course, with prizes awarded for the top three runners in each age group. The grand prize for the 10k is a $500 Visa gift card. Runners and walkers are asked to pick up race packets on Friday at Kings Harbor or on the day of the race from 7 am to 7:30 am. The 10K race will begin promptly at 8 am followed by the 5K run/walk at 8:05 am.
Entry fees are $25 for the 10K run and $20 for the 5K run/walk. Sign up can be done online at Active.com. Each runner that signs up will receive a commemorative shirt and goody bag.
The Wellness Fest will begin at 10 am and will run until 2 pm. The entire family is invited to come enjoy the awards ceremony, local restaurants, music, entertainment and local vendors. All kids can stretch with Dynamo Diesel, the mascot for the Houston Dynamos soccer team, at 10:30 am. In addition, kids will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Dynamo Diesel and receive an autographed card. American Idol Contestant Sundance Head is also scheduled to perform during the Lake Houston Wellness Fest.
Booth space is available, but going quick. Booth space is $150, but Chamber members can reserve their booth for a reduced price of $125.
