Kingwood, TX: Have some fun and throw your cares to charity by celebrating the extra day in 2008 – Leap Day -- at Nico’s Place with a fun evening of laughter and karaoke to benefit the Village Learning & Achievement Center. The local restaurant and nite club, located in the heart of Black Cat Ridge on Loop 494, will donate 10% of its proceeds Friday, February 29th from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. to the local charity.
A highlight of the evening will be Friday night Karaoke, featuring dee jay Rick Estrada from 8:30 p.m. until close with the opportunity to “nominate” selected singers from the audience with your charitable donations! On hand will be local luminaries not necessarily known for their singing ability, but definitely eager to raise money for a good cause! Rick Estrada has a song list longer than all our arms put together, including Creedence Clearwater, Tony Bennet, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash and everything in between!
Ladies will want to take advantage of Leap Day to invite their favorite gentlemen out for a fun night that will include business-card door prizes, music, dancing and Leaps of fun -- all benefiting a great local charity. Nico’s Place after-work features signature cocktails that include the Black Cat Ridge Martini, Nico’s Havana Mojito, Meg’s Spicy Cajun Mary, a selection of wines, and a menu of traditional pub food with a twist, including personal pan pizzas, wings, cheese trays, and gumbo from its Cajun Mama’s lunch menu.
Village Learning & Achievement Center is a 501(c) 3 non-profit charitable organization devoted to helping individuals with disabilities enjoy fuller lives in the Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita communities through training, employment support and residential programs.
