Southern Belle Charm and Etiquette Classes Offered at May Community Center

charm and etiquette classes

Learn how to become a "southern belle" during charm and etiquette classes at May Community Center Wednesdays, June 10 and 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. A volunteer offers instruction on dining etiquette, introductions, good manners, and even proper body language. The saying goes, "pretty is as pretty does," and nothing conveys how pretty a young lady is like etiquette, social grace, and proper table manners.

These hands-on classes include a garden-themed English tea, which encourages students to practice their newly acquired skills. As an added bonus, participants will also learn the basics of pageant/runway modeling and stage presence from hostesses Jessica Beemer, Miss University of Texas San Antonio 2008, and Shantelle Shonjaei, Little Miss Lake Houston 2008. Class size is limited to 20 young ladies, ages 8 through 12. A $3 suggested donation helps defray the cost of supplies.

For more information and to register, please visit the Center or call (281) 324-3373. May Community Center's free intergenerational programs are part of Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jerry Eversole's educational and recreational commitment to Harris County residents.
