While the focal point of the holiday season is Christmas celebrating the birth of Christ, the season of lights, and Jesus's biggest fan, St. Nicholas, there is another festival that also celebrates light, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Nearly 700 guests attended Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle's Tribute to Veterans at the Humble Civic Center on Nov. 11. Veterans and their spouses enjoyed a catered dinner plus a patriotic concert featuring the Houston Tidelanders during the precinct's largest Veterans Day celebration to date.
More than 2,000 visitors attended Precinct 4's Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center this past weekend for its annual Pioneer Day. Visitors enjoyed games and crafts, colonial re-enactments and activities, and old-fashioned music and scenery.
Ten years ago, the newly formed Kingwood Chamber came up with a simple idea: neighbors getting together for a morning to pick up trash and make their community beautiful. Christened "Kleenwood," a Kingwood tradition was born. Each January, residents in every community across Kingwood meet at their village pool, garbage bags in hand, and do their part to clean up the place they call home.
