April and May Fun4Seniors Trips departing from Kingwood Branch Library

Harris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program is offering the following Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in April and May 2015. Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and better and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726.

All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee.

Saturday, April 18, 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM: San Jacinto Day Festival, La Porte. Hundreds of history reenactors — complete with cannons, horses, dogs, women, children and pyrotechnics — will recreate the events leading up to Texas winning its independence 179 years ago at the decisive Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. The cost is FREE and lunch is on your own at Monument Inn.

Tuesday, April 21, 8:15 AM - 4:45 PM: Chappell Hill Lavender Farm Tour, Brenham. Experience the beauty and charm of the delightful Chappell Hill Lavender Farm and visit the Lavender Patch gift shop. Lavender soaps, lotions, bath gels, sachets, teas, coffees, and lemonade have all been carefully made from the harvested lavender blooms, which are available at this charming shop. The cost is FREE and enjoy lunch and shopping in downtown Brenham on your own.

Saturday, May 2, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Galveston Historic Homes Tour, Galveston. Attend the 41st annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour to experience numerous, privately owned, historic island homes. The cost is $15 per person and lunch is on your own at Shrimp 'N Stuff. 

Sunday, May 17, 10:30 AM - 5:45 PM: The Owen Theatre: Oklahoma, Conroe. See this classic musical as it tells the story of Laurey and the two rivals for her affections: Curly, a cowboy, and Jud, the hired farmhand. The play takes place in 1906 in the Indian territory of the American West during the time when Oklahoma was established as a state. The cost is $17 per person and lunch is on your own at Golden Corral.
