Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program invites all senior adults ages 50 years of age and better to learn about the rich history of Galveston Bay and the Port of Houston aboard the Seagull II Thursday, July 30 at 8 a.m.
Begin the tour at Pier 21 in Galveston with the documentary, Galveston: Gateway on the Gulf, which tells the story of the more than 200,000 immigrants from all over the world as they entered the United States for the first time. Their stories are as rich and diverse as their origins, and they gave the island a unique cultural heritage which continues today.
Following the movie, board the Seagull II for a narrated tour of Galveston Bay and the Port of Houston. Take in the variety of birds and marine life while on the water, possibly including some playful dolphins. Enjoy lunch with the group at Miller’s Seawall Grill. Lunch is not included in the ticket cost; participants are responsible for their own meals.
Bus transportation is provided from Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble. A $14 pre-paid, non-refundable fee must be received within one week of making your reservation.
