One of the biggest Broadway successes of all time will be coming to the stage this month when the LSC-Kingwood drama department performs Godspell, the award-winning musical based on the gospel of Matthew.
“This is my fourth experience with the show,” says Artistic Director Eric C. Skiles. “Godspell is one of those perennial favorites for the audience and the cast. We have an amazing group of 23 actors in this production – their sound and energy are amazing. This is the perfect show for the beginning of the holiday season; it reminds us to give thanks and rejoice! Come join us!”
Drawing from various theatrical traditions such as pantomime, charades and vaudeville, this play is a unique reflection on the life of Jesus Christ, whose parables come beautifully to life through music, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.
Cast members include: Ryan Williams as Jesus, Eric Kosecki as Judas, and Josh Medeski as John the Baptizer. The Ensemble Company includes: Kayla Ates, Kyle Atkinson, Allison Butler, Dan Calderon, Matt Castleberry, Cameron Dunham, Valerie Dunham, Lee Van Emden, Lucas Farr, DeAndre’ Goins, Amanda Merrick, Chantel Moody, Kim Rahbani, Michael Rowell, Paige Schrock, Heather Smith, Megan Sorley, Mark Strzepek, Moriah Townsend, and Brittany Washington.
