Precinct 4 Celebrates Red Hat Society’s Birthday

Decked out in their signature purple and red attire, hundreds of Red Hatters gathered to celebrate the 17th birthday of the Red Hat Society April 22 at the Humble Civic Center.

Hosted by Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program and Fun4Seniors, the event included an afternoon of traditional country-and-western favorites, a catered lunch, and a chocolate fountain.

The event celebrated the anniversary of the Red Hat Society, formed April 25, 1998 to promote fun and friendship among women 50 and better. Now, more than 20,000 chapters exist in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 30 foreign countries.

Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program has been a leader in supporting the Red Hat Society, with luncheons, Sassy Red Hatter meetings at Mangum-Howell Center, and bus trips within a 150 mile radius of the Houston area.

Sassy Red Hatter meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at Mangum-Howell Center, located in Doss Park at 2500 Frick Road, Houston 77038. For more information regarding classes or other Center programs, please call 281-591-7830 or visit www.hcp4.net/ccenters<http://www.hcp4.net/ccenters
