Precinct 4 invites individuals 50 years and better to visit the horses of Houston’s Mounted Patrol to discover what it takes for a horse to become part of the troop Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Mounted Patrol Officers will treat visitors to a guided tour of the equestrian facility and share all the behind-the-scenes activities that go into training and preparing the horses for large crowds and events. Visitors will have an opportunity to feed the horses snacks such as apples and large carrots. The trip will also include a stop at The Arbor Gate, which offers an inspired collection of unusual plants, artisan created decorative pieces, and a constant array of items that bring beauty, comfort, and flavor to the home and garden.
Transportation is provided from Barbara Bush Library, 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. For additional information and registration, please call 281-893-3726. A prepaid, nonrefundable $10 fee must be received within one week of making your reservation. Participants should bring extra cash for lunch at Carriage House Café.
