Registration Now Open for Jr. Ranger Camp at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve

Children ages 10 to 13 are invited to learn what it takes to become a park ranger this summer during Jr. Ranger Camp Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve.

Learn all about area wildlife, the ecosystem, and local conservation efforts in this one-week day camp led by Precinct 4 Parks Department staff. Daily activities include ranger talks, hikes, interactive activities, games, and outdoor recreational activities. The July session includes a trip to Sea Center Texas. Campers attending all five days of camp will receive a Jr. Ranger patch. Registration is required at www.hcp4.net/jrrangercamp.

Camp takes place entirely outdoors. Campers are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Hats are recommended. Bring a water bottle and a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration or use of a microwave.

Precinct 4’s Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve is an 80-acre property featuring the 40-acre Marshall Lake, plus a staff building, paved roads and parking lots, restroom facilities, canoe launch, fishing piers, and 1.7 miles of paved trails. The entrance is located at 20215 Chasewood Park Drive Houston, Texas 77070. For more information, call 713-274-4299 or visit www.hcp4.net/kmp.
