Even without an ice rink, the local hockey league continues play...on in-line skates!
Every saturday from now until December 10th, the Kingwood Roller Hockey youth league gathers at Greentree Elementary School at 9 am to practice skating drills, stick handling skills and game strategies. The team practices for an hour, and then competes in scrimmages for another hour.
These young hockey players are enthusiastic about the growing popularity of hockey in our region. Over the summer, the players attended three KRH mini-camps and even competed in a city-wide Iron Man contest held at Houston Indoor Sports.
The boys and girls who participated in these events especially enjoyed sharing their love of hockey with the community at the Kingwood 4th of July parade. The crowd cheered as the players skated the parade route chanting "Hockey! Hockey! Hockey!"
In the midst of the fall season, the Kingwood Roller Hockey youth league strives to grow in numbers with this excitement. It's not too late to join the fun! Kingwood Roller Hockey is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13 years old. To register or gain more information, contact
