Seniors Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Decked in green, seniors hit the dance floor during Harris County Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s St. Patrick’s Day Dance Tuesday, March 17 at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway.

Seniors were treated to performances of the traditional Irish step dance by the Maguire Academy of Irish Dance Houston, which hosts weekly classes for boys and girls from beginner to championship level. Following the performance, seniors danced to classic country and western swing performed by the River Road Boys.

The event was made possible in part through Precinct 4’s nonprofit organization, Fun4Seniors. Precinct 4’s next Fun4Seniors event includes an all-day shopping trip to four different quilting stores on Friday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Presents The 8th Annual Opry in Humble

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program presents the Opry in Humble Friday, August 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway. Sponsored in part by Texas HealthSpring, this annual fundraiser event features the Hometown Opry Band, area entertainers, and a raffle.

Opry tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program at (281) 893-3726, ext. 32. Alcohol is not permitted at county-sponsored functions, but light refreshments will be available for purchase.

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Announces Free Ongoing Art and Exercise Classes

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program (SAP) announces two new ongoing programs for adults (ages 50 and better,) at the B. F. Clark Community Building at Southwell Park, 27419 Nelson Road, Spring 77373.

Join the body toning and chair exercise classes on Monday and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. beginning July 6. This exercise class increases strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Participants should wear lightweight clothing, and plan to bring a towel and a water bottle. If you have concerns or have a serious medical condition, please check with your physician before attending the class.

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program Hosts an Afternoon Dessert Theatre

Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program (SAP) is hosting an Afternoon Dessert Theatre featuring Radio Music Theatre Tuesday, September 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Parkway. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 2:30 p.m.

Radio Music Theatre’s show mixes short sketches, funny music, improvisation, and bogus commercials in a non-stop comedy revue. Coffee, tea, punch, and assorted desserts will be served. Alcohol is not permitted at county-sponsored functions.
